About Los AlamitosFollowing Pearl Harbor, the United States Navy moved their training field to Los Alamitos, where Navy and Marine flyers were trained. After World War II ended, the base was used for reserve training, then was reactivated for the Korean and Vietnam conflicts. The Navy later turned the base over to the California National Guard and now the Joint Forces Training Base serves as a reserve training center for all branches of the military.
The township of Los Alamitos became incorporated in 1960 and combines a small-town ambience with excellent schools and a high quality of life to ensure that the city is a nice place to live, visit and conduct business.
Los Alamitos features a Community Center as well as several beautiful parks where you can relax and have fun. Located on Farquhar Street, you will find one of the most popular parks in the city: Little Cottonwood Park.
