Following Pearl Harbor, the United States Navy moved their training field to Los Alamitos, where Navy and Marine flyers were trained. After World War II ended, the base was used for reserve training, then was reactivated for the Korean and Vietnam conflicts. The Navy later turned the base over to the California National Guard and now the Joint Forces Training Base serves as a reserve training center for all branches of the military.
